"Cambridge (Borough in the Waikato County) a well laid out town with an English aspect it was founded by the Third Regiment of Waikato Militia in 1864 when each soldier was allotted a block of fifty acres and a town lot. Activities include the manufacture of dairy products, fertiliser, tallow and dressed timber. Borough population 6,500 which included Leamington."
