In Volume 2 – Auckland Provincial District - the preface states, 'The intention is that each volume shall describe and illustrate notable places and scenes within the province it treats of, contains biographies and portraits of men and women in practically all sections of society, and deals representatively with the industries of the province as a whole and with the calling of the people.' Cambridge and districts are covered in the Auckland volume.
