Soft cover book of 80 pages - "issued to commemorate the 'Anchor' Brand Jubilee; to honour the pioneers and progressive builders of the Company; to record the present day attainments and to convey the promise for the future of the largest individual dairy company in the British Empire and in the world – embodying 11,000 suppliers milking 400,000 dairy cows grazed on rich sun-kissed pastures."
On 3 November 1886 Henry Reynolds started the 'Anchor' brand at Pukekura near Cambridge with just less than 100lbs of butter. Fifty years later, with 17 factories, the NZ Co-operative Dairy Co Ltd produced 47,500 tons of butter in one season. Plus 7,625 tons of cheese, 6,032 tons of milk powder, 1,239 tons casein and 1,953 tons of condensed and evaporated milk.
Board of Directors in the Jubilee year were – F O R Phillips, F E Hughes, R H McKenzie, J T Bryant, J T Young, R J Glasgow, J Dean, A Hayward, W E Hale, D Bruce, W Marshall and R A Candy.
