This book was written for the Cambridge Historical Society by Ruth Wilkinson and edited by Rev. F W Cook. Photographs and reproductions were by Reg Buckingham.
The public were asked to submit stories of their families of which 112 are recorded in this book.
The section 'Cambridge – Inside 1971' covers the achievements of businesses and people, which makes interesting reading. 'The Industrial Development of Carter's Flat' is also recorded in a third section.
