Such Things Were - the Story of Cambridge NZ

Back

Title / Name
'Such Things Were' the Story of Cambridge New Zealand.

Brief Description
Carefully researched well written history of Cambridge and districts. Readers are taken back into Maori history and the beginning of European occupation. James Cowan's foreword says, "This story, which should rank as a standard history over a much wider area than Cambridge district, will appeal to the general reader on its merits as a narrative of true colonial adventure. The final test of care and thoroughness is the adequate index; this most necessary feature is wanting in many otherwise useful books."
Published in connection with the Centennial of New Zealand, copies of this book were given free to all local school children.
