Henry Charles Tod MBE - 1953 to 1956

Dr Tod was born in 1896, he married Kathleen Mary Parnham and came to Cambridge in 1923.

He served as secretary for the Fire Brigade from 1929 and went onto the Board in 1955. He was a foundation member of the Cambridge Historical Society and member of Rotary, Masonic Lodge, Patron for Red Cross and on the Advisory Board for Plunket. He was on the Cambridge Electric Power Board from 1951-1968, was a Presbyterian Elder and played rugby, golf and bowls.

He was on the Borough Council in 1950 and served as Mayor from 1953 to 1956.

He was awarded an MBE in 1972 for his work for the community and died in 1979.
